I am sad to announce the demise of my loving uncle Rev. Fr.R. V. Mathias, my mother's dear younger brother on 17th November,2011.

He believed and preached that Religion's role was conversion of hearts rather than convert one from his faith.
He was the former National Chaplain of YCW-India and International Chaplain of IYCW. Our sincere tributes to this noble soul.

Bishop of Palayamkottai, Tamil Nadu, India

Fr. R. V. Mathias was a great person coupled with deep spirituality as well as humanity! I miss him a lot. He was my friend and guide. I can share with him very personally.

I am of the opinion that he touched thousands of people across the world with his sensitivity and humaneness. He was a priest of God, a man of prayer and led a people oriented life. He gave himself to God and consequently to His people irrespective of caste, colour and creed. He stunned all by his deep respect and reverence for everybody and was very inclusive in all his approaches. He was a humble and vibrant person known for his simplicity!

It is because of his deep attachment to his Master Christ that he enjoyed the inner freedom so much that he can very easily empty himself in order to enrich the needy and the rich both materially and spiritually.

The best tribute one can offer would be to answer " R.V. a R.V.? " of course next to Christ indeed!
